Since it was the first IPA brewed at Pizza Port's original site in Solana Beach more than 20 years ago, Swami's IPA is a special beer to the Pizza Port family.
This beer is the ideal representation of a West Coast IPA since it features the crisp bitterness of citrus and pine and has a more conventional hop character.
Swami's is named after one of San Diego County's most well-known surf breaks, which, as brilliantly shown on the can, is constantly crowded with paddle boarders and surfers both.
The Self-Realization Fellowship, an Encinitas landmark that is also precisely represented on the can, is where the break takes its name from.
