Aberfeldy 18 year old Tuscan Red Wine Cask

Being in the midst of fall also means that new releases of whisky continue to pour in. With an 18-year-old whisky from a Tuscan winery that was matured in red wine barrels, Aberfeldy is back. While Michter's is back with its 20-year-old straight bourbon, Kentucky Peerless is bringing back its rye that has been finished with absinthe.

This is the fourth release in Aberfeldy's red wine cask finishing series.
The Bolgheri appellation of Tuscan red wine casks were used to age the 18 year old single malt for four to five months.

Stephanie Macleod, the master blender behind Aberfeldy's yearly release, displays her deft finishing touch. The 2020 release, a finished 18-year-old Bordeaux barrel, received 93 points and was ranked No. 10 on the Top 20 list of that year.
