Glengoyne The Legacy Series: Chapter 3
The Legacy Series, which debuted in 2019, has three expressions total, this being the third and last. Glengoyne narrates the tale of Sir Arthur John Tedder, an excise officer who worked at the distillery from 1889 to 1893, through this whisky.
Sherry and American oak casks were used to mature Chapter 3 in combination.
Cochrane Cartwright, Glengoyne's distillery manager from 1869 until 2003, was honored in Chapter One of the Legacy Series, while Peter Russell, the company's founder and chairman and Glengoyne's current owner, was honored in Chapter Two. Each of the three expressions has a distinctive finish (though varying re-fill sherry casks and bourbon barrels are key to each).
