Shakespeare Distillery opens second site

Spirits producer Shakespeare Distillery has opened a new rum school and tasting room, called Judith’s.

The distillery is located in Stratford-upon-Avon in England, UK. The expansion has created six new jobs. Shakespeare Distillery has converted two floors above its retail premises at No 1 High Street into Judith’s rum school and tasting room. The producer attributed the expansion to the success of its distillery tours and gin school, situated in Drayton Manor Drive, Stratford-upon-Avon. Peter Monks, director at Shakespeare Distillery, said: “Stratford-upon-Avon is once again a busy and vibrant town after the pandemic and so now presents the perfect opportunity for us to expand our business. “Having a tasting room in town will make it easier for our customers to try our products and it also gives residents the opportunity to visit with their friends and family. We look forward to starting an exciting new chapter, not only for the distillery but for this historic building.” Judith’s made its debut last week to coincide with the Stratford-upon-Avon Food Festival, which ran from 30 September to 2 October. To celebrate the opening of Judith’s, Shakespeare Distillery has launched a limited edition pink gin. Judith’s Premium Pink Gin is made with pink peppercorns, hibiscus, citrus, raspberries and blackberries. After distillation, fresh raspberries are macerated in the gin to give its pink tinge. The gin is recommended served with elderflower tonic water or light Indian tonic water, garnished with a slice of lemon. Earlier this year, Shakespeare Distillery launched a Citrus Vodka as part of its limited edition Distillery Special range.
