The peace that exists between Japanese nature and people is captured by Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky. It is a symphony of at least ten malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita distilleries, matured in five different kinds of casks. Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a bright amber-colored whisky with flavors of candied orange peel and white chocolate on the palate, as well as smells of rose, lychee, a hint of rosemary, mature woodiness, and sandalwood.
Apricot, orange flower, and marmalade scents that are enhanced by a light spice from cinnamon and clove.
Elegant and alluring
Palate
Oranges and apricots are abundant on the palate as the ample fruit continues.
Although there is a hint of peppery spice, the smooth, luscious fruit eventually takes over.
Nicely made and with good balance.
Finish
The fruit is overpowered by the spice, which lingers along with a faint hint of barrel char.
Comment
In comparison to much older Hibiki bottlings, this is a baby yet it still has the traditional smooth, exquisite orange-blossom flavor, abundant fruitiness, and a touch of spice to move things along.
Each rich yet delicate sip has a lengthy, gentle, and lingering Mizunara aftertaste (Japanese oak). Hibiki Whisky, from the House of Suntory, honors an unmatched art of blending, superb craftsmanship, and a sense of luxury. It is seductive, blooming, and intriguing.
